Text Reminders are being used for all appointment. We urge patients to ensure contact details are up-to-date. Should you wish to opt-out of this service please contact us.
Appointments
From Monday 29th August 2022 the Practice is changing the way in which we allocate on the day appointment requests. This is to ensure that our patients receive the ‘Right Care at the Right Time’ and to improve access.
Patients who feel that their symptoms need to be assessed on the same day will be triaged by one of our clinicians in the first instance. When calling the practice for an on the day appointment one of the Reception team will take your details along with a brief reason for your call. This is under the instruction of the GP's and will allow them where possible to signpost you to the right person or service. One of our clinicians will then call you back.
Our telephone lines will now be open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5:30pm with triage running until 11am daily. Requests for on the day appointments or triage calls will not be taken at the Reception desk. We are aware that it can be difficult to get through to us on the telephone. We are working to make this better. Our telephone lines are very busy during these hours therefore we politely ask that patients telephone after 11am if your query is not urgent.
We hope that these changes will improve accessibility to routine appointments with our GPs which will now be available to book 2 weeks in advance.
All surgery consultations are by way of appointment only. GP consulting times vary from day to day depending on each GP's rota
An appointment is for one person only. If more than one person in the family needs to be seen please advise Reception at the time of booking and a longer appointment time will be allocated. If you consider that your consultation requires additional time or you have multiple problems to be dealt with, please arrange a double appointment. Further information on how to get the most from your consultation.
We politely ask that patients do not queue outside the Practice before opening, this is for health and safety reasons. We do not open the doors until 8:30am, even in adverse weather. Please be aware that no appointments are being made at Reception. This is to support social distancing within the building.
Telephone Advice
If your problem can be dealt with over the phone without seeing the doctor face to face, you may wish to book a telephone consultation with a doctor. Tell the Receptionist a telephone consultation would be appropriate.
Sometimes leaving a message might do and the doctor can get a Receptionist to call you back with the information you need. Give the receptionist details of the situation. If you leave a message it may be a few days before we can return your call so do not use leaving a message as an alternative to getting a telephone consultation or an appointment if that would be appropriate.
All urgent matters that require attention the same day, let the Receptionist know so the Duty Doctor on call can be contacted for advice.
Booking Appointments Online - EMIS Patient Access
You can register to book appointments online through EMIS Patient Access. Please contact the practice on Fife.cmpfeedback@nhs.scot for information on how to register.
Appointment Cancellation and Non-Attendance
If you have an appointment which you no longer require we would politely ask that you cancel it. On average 26 patients do not attend (DNA) their appointments in a week which in turn makes it more difficult for other patients to access an appointment when they need it.
Appointments can be cancelled by telephoning Reception 01383 518500 or through our text messaging service.
